ESP-05 overview

The ESP-05 is an ESP8266 Serial WiFi Transceiver Module, supplied in a QFN-32 package. Main ratings: Controller ESP8266EX Serial WiFi 32-bit Tensilica L106 SoC; Working voltage 3.3V; Supported voltage 3.0 - 3.6V; Working current 71-80mA. This page brings together the ESP-05 pinout and key specifications, with the full datasheet PDF to preview below or download.

ESP-05 ESP8266 UART WiFi module is an ultra-low power consumption, WiFi passthrough module. The module offers a complete and self-contained Wi-Fi networking solution, allowing it to either host the application or offload all Wi-Fi networking functions from another application processor. ESP-05 has powerful onboard processing and storage capabilities that allow it to be integrated with the sensors and other application-specific devices through its GPIOs with minimal development up-front and minimal loading during runtime. The module's high degree of on-chip integration allows for minimal external circuitry, and the entire solution is designed to occupy minimal PCB area.

ESP-05 module is addressable over SPI and UART, making it an exceptionally easy choice for anyone wanting to start with Internet of Things design. It also allows AT commands to connect to WiFi networks and also allows you to open TCP connections without the need to have a TCP/IP stack running in your own microcontroller: The user can simply connect any MCU to the module and start pushing data up to the Internet.
