Technical Accuracy Policy
Last updated: 6 November 2026
Accurate technical information is the reason DataSheet Hub exists. This policy explains how we handle it, where errors can still occur, and what you should do before relying on it.
1. How we handle technical information
- We work from official manufacturer datasheets and documentation wherever possible.
- Technical content is reviewed by our editor, an electronics engineer, as part of our publishing process.
- Where a datasheet comes from a source other than the manufacturer, we label it as a third-party source on the page.
- We monitor datasheet links and correct confirmed errors when they are reported.
We make reasonable efforts to keep information accurate and current. We do not claim that every value on every page has been independently re-verified, and we cannot guarantee that every specification, pinout, electrical characteristic or other parameter is free from error.
2. Where errors can occur
- Transcription and formatting: values, units, symbols (such as µ, Ω and °C) or table rows can be mis-copied or garbled.
- Interpretation: conditions attached to a value (temperature, supply voltage, load) can be lost when it is summarised.
- Revisions: manufacturers update datasheets and parts; a page may describe an earlier revision.
- Variants: package, grade and suffix variants (for example, different temperature ranges or pin-outs between packages) can have different specifications.
- Similar part numbers: parts from different manufacturers with similar numbers are not always equivalent.
- Third-party documents: copies not sourced from the manufacturer may be incomplete or out of date.
3. What you should do
- Use DataSheet Hub to find and assess parts, then confirm every critical parameter in the latest datasheet from the manufacturer or an authorised distributor.
- Check the exact part number, including all suffixes, against the package and grade you will actually use.
- Pay particular attention to absolute maximum ratings, recommended operating conditions, pin assignments, polarity and thermal data. See our Engineering Safety Notice.
- Validate your design through simulation, prototyping and testing appropriate to its risk.
4. Corrections
If you find an error, please report it with a link to the manufacturer's documentation if you can. We review every report and correct confirmed errors as soon as practicable.
